Florida State Amend & Skogstad compete in last tournament of their career in Senior Division for Women at the Southern Speech Association Tournament in Greeenville, SC, March 30-April 1, 1953. Amend & Skogstad had distinguished career winning first place at the All Southern Tournament at Agnes Scott College in 1950 and 1952, the University of Miami Invitational and the Regional Tau Kappa Alpha Championship Tournament as well as repeated honors at the FSU Invitational Tournament and in intramural events. Freshman team Florida State Tom Woods & Andrew Beverly will compete in Junior Division for Men. "Resolved: that Federal anti-discrimination legislation will advance the status of the Negro in the South." Bert Bradley, graduate assistant.
